Mobility Projects with Partner Countries

It has been possible to implement mobilities with programme countries thanks to the Erasmus programme which has been active since 2004. The scope of the mentioned programme has been widened with the Erasmus+ period and it has been possible to implement the same type of mobilites with many other countries, in another term “Partner Countries”. For this type of mobility, higher education institutions should apply to the National Agency using a separate procedure.

The Aim of the Mobility Projects with Partner Countries

Mobility activity with Partner Countries provides the students or staff of higher education institutions (HEIs) with the opportunity to study or gain professional experience in a foreign country. The essential aims of the activity are; supporting the personal development and employability of the HEI students, supporting the professional development of the HEI staff, and developing the capacity and international dimension of the HEIs. In addition to that, the activities are designed to serve the purposes such as supporting individuals in developing various competences, strengthening the language competencies, raising awareness on different cultures and countries, enhancing the sense of European citizenship, setting up international networks, providing recognition for the competencies gained through the activities in foreign countries.

With these aims taken into consideration, though it is taken as a very similar structure to the traditional Erasmus activities, below mentioned aims specific to the Mobilities with Partner countries unfold the differences of the activity:

  • Gaining a strong international dimension through cooperation with Partner Countries,
  • Raising interest in European HEIs and supporting the worldwide competitiveness of the European HEIs.
  • Supporting the internationalization and modernization of the non-European HEIs with the aim of promoting the development of Partner Countries.

Activities Available Within the Scope of Mobility Projects with Partner Countries

Similar to traditional Erasmus activities, HEI staff and students from various cycles can participate in the activities mentioned below:

Student Mobility: Mobility of HEI students between our country and Partner Countries for studies.

Staff Mobility: Mobility of HEI staff between our country and Partner Countries for teaching or training.
